Small measurements make a big difference to a quartz replacement.

Which shaft measurement do I need?

Measure the dial thickness and follow the listing’s instructions for threaded shaft length and total shaft length. These are different measurements, and the fixing must pass through the dial correctly.

Can I reuse my hands and sound features?

Only if the hand fittings, lengths and movement requirements match. Chiming and cuckoo replacements also need compatible sound and control arrangements. Do not assume a quartz movement is interchangeable just because it fits the case.
