Anton Schneider 1695/9 Woodchopper 1-Day Cuckoo Clock

The Woodchopper captures a small working scene outside a Black Forest chalet. A woodchopper raises and lowers his axe beside the house while a white goose stands nearby, creating a charming display that feels active even in its compact 27 cm case. The woodchopper's motion follows the rhythm of the pendulum for as long as the clock runs.

Movement, sound and animation

The mechanical 1-day movement is wound daily by raising the pinecone weights. Its cuckoo calls on the hour and half hour using the traditional mechanical bellows and pipes. This model has no music box, allowing the cuckoo, pendulum and woodchopper animation to remain the focus, and a manual shut-off provides quiet when needed.

Handcrafted in the Black Forest

The linden-wood case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. The mechanical movement carries the VdS certificate of authenticity for genuine Black Forest origin, materials and manufacture and is covered by a 24-month movement warranty.
