Anton Schneider 8TMT 1019/9 Roofer's Clock 8-Day Cuckoo Clock

The Roofer's Clock is one of Anton Schneider's most animated chalet designs. A roofer works on the shingled roof, a sawyer cuts a log below, men raise their glasses at the table, and costumed couples turn on the balcony. Together, these figures create a layered Black Forest village scene with something new to notice from every angle.

Movement, sound and animation

The mechanical 8-day movement requires winding only once a week. A 22-note music box plays Edelweiss and The Happy Wanderer while the roofer, sawyer, beer drinkers and dancers animate the scene. The cuckoo calls on the hour and half hour, and an automatic night shut-off silences the call and music in the evening.

Handcrafted in the Black Forest

The linden-wood case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. The mechanical movement carries the VdS certificate of authenticity for genuine Black Forest origin, materials and manufacture and is covered by a 24-month movement warranty.
