Town Hall Michelstadt recreates the famous half-timbered landmark of the Odenwald in wood. Architectural details give the case the character of the original building, while dancers turn on the balcony, a beer drinker raises his glass and the mill wheel moves below. It is both a working clock and a miniature piece of German architectural history.

Movement, sound and animation

The mechanical 8-day movement runs for a full week between windings. Its 22-note music box plays Edelweiss and The Happy Wanderer, accompanied by the beer drinker, mill wheel and dancing figures. The cuckoo calls on the hour and half hour, with an automatic night shut-off to quiet the clock in the evening.

Handcrafted in the Black Forest

The linden-wood case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. The mechanical movement carries the VdS certificate of authenticity for genuine Black Forest origin, materials and manufacture and is covered by a 24-month movement warranty.
