This charming cottage has nice proportions and is beautifully colored. It features a LARGE, 37-note music box mechanism which plays beautiful resonant music every hour, after the cuckoo bird calls. The music is particularly sonorous and full-bodied, due to the upgraded music mechanism. It plays music from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet.

In Tchaikovsky's beloved ballet, "The Nutcracker," young Clara receives a magical nutcracker doll from her mysterious godfather Drosselmeyer during a festive Christmas party. Later that night, Clara dreams of a grand adventure where her nutcracker comes to life to lead an army of toy soldiers against the sinister Mouse King and his minions. With the help of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara and her Nutcracker Prince journey through fantastical lands, encountering delightful characters like the Snow Queen and the Arabian dancers. In the end, Clara awakens from her dream, cherishing the memories of her enchanting journey into the realm of magic and imagination.

New details in this piece include fine, wood cut windows and beautifully carved figures. The roof has individually hand-laid shingles, and the dial, hands, and bird are all of solid wood.

The Nutcracker is by Sternreiter.
