The Hermle Kingsland is a precision 31-day mechanical regulator designed around the movement itself. Its tall matte-black case, genuine metal inlays, separate regulator-style hour, minute and seconds indications, and long pendulum give it the presence of a traditional precision wall clock in a distinctly modern presentation.

The monthly-running movement is engineered to reduce friction and improve power transmission. It uses six ball bearings, including bearings in the drive, bezel and minute-wheel assemblies, along with ruby bearings in the wheel train, escape wheel and lever. A Graham escapement with ruby pallets regulates the movement, while the escape wheel advances in 60 steps per minute to provide a true-seconds display.

A winding backstop helps maintain power to the movement while the clock is being wound. Fine regulation is handled by Hermle's Huygen runner with a carbon pendulum rod, and the double-cylinder pendulum completes the precision-focused design.
