The Hermle Hudson is a high-precision monthly regulator built around a newly developed Hermle movement that combines a full one-month power reserve with exceptionally low friction. Its slim, highly polished case and beveled glass keep the mechanical movement, pendulum and hand-painted three-dimensional moon sphere fully visible.
The movement is driven by a weight of approximately 2.5 kg and uses six precision miniature ball bearings plus six ruby jewels to minimize friction and improve power transmission through the gear train. Rate accuracy is controlled by a Graham lever escapement with ruby pallets, allowing the movement to be regulated to within only a few seconds over the course of a month.
The hand-painted moon sphere is designed for exceptional long-term accuracy and requires only very infrequent correction, giving the Hudson a technical centerpiece to match its precision movement.
