Need Help Choosing a Clock? Meet the Clock Finder

Sometimes you know exactly which clock you want. Other times you know only that the room needs one—and suddenly you are comparing wall clocks, mantel clocks, grandfather clocks, cuckoo clocks and styles you had not even considered.

That is why we built the Just A Clock Collector Clock Finder. It is a simpler way to begin shopping for a complete clock. Tell us a little about what you have in mind, and the finder narrows the selection to clocks that match your choices.

Start with the kind of clock you can picture.

Would a wall clock make the room? Are you looking for a mantel or table clock, a floor or grandfather clock, a cuckoo clock, or a ship's or nautical clock? You can start with a type—or choose “I’m Not Sure” and keep exploring.

From there, the Clock Finder asks whether you prefer new, new old stock or vintage and pre-owned clocks. Choose a comfortable budget, then decide whether a mechanical clock you wind or a convenient quartz clock appeals more. “Either Is Fine” and “I’m Not Sure” are there when you do not want to rule out a good clock too early.

If you choose a cuckoo clock, there is an extra question about the look you love, including carved, chalet and modern styles. The point is to help you explore, not to make you learn clock terminology before you can begin.

See the clocks that match, then make the choice your own.

At the end, you can review your answers and open a selection of matching clocks. If something does not feel right, change an answer or refine the results. On the collection page, you can continue comparing details such as availability, maker, movement and chime where those filters are available.

The finder is a starting point. Before choosing any individual clock, check its actual dimensions, sound, movement, condition and availability on its product page. A vintage clock in particular is its own piece, with details that cannot be decided by a few broad questions.

Why I wanted this on the site

I love clocks, but I know an entire catalog can feel like too much when you are just beginning. You should be able to say “I want something beautiful for this room, around this budget” and have a sensible place to start. The Clock Finder gives you that first step while leaving room for the clock that surprises you.

Clock Finder questions

What if I do not know whether I want mechanical or quartz?

Choose “I’m Not Sure” or “Either Is Fine.” You can compare the matching clocks first, then read each listing to understand its winding or battery routine and any sound it makes.

Can I change my answers?

Yes. Review your choices before opening the results, then refine them if you want a different direction. The finder is there to help you explore, not lock you into your first thought.

Ready to see what fits? Start the Clock Finder. And if you would rather talk through two clocks you are considering, ask Andy. I am happy to help you compare them.
