Anton Schneider 40/9 Avis Apicis 1-Day Cuckoo Clock

The Avis Apicis is a compact expression of the classic carved Black Forest cuckoo clock. A single bird crowns the case while five finely worked leaves frame the dial, giving the design a traditional presence without overwhelming a smaller room. At 20 cm high, it works especially well in a hallway, study, bedroom or intimate living space.

Movement, sound and animation

The mechanical 1-day movement is wound daily by raising the pinecone weights. The cuckoo calls on the hour and half hour through the traditional bellows-and-pipe mechanism, accompanied by the steady motion of the pendulum. This model has no music box, and a manual shut-off lets you silence the call whenever you wish.

Handcrafted in the Black Forest

The linden-wood case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. The mechanical movement carries the VdS certificate of authenticity for genuine Black Forest origin, materials and manufacture and is covered by a 24-month movement warranty.
