Anton Schneider 8TMT 1220/9 Town Hall Alsfeld 8-Day Cuckoo Clock

Town Hall Alsfeld transforms one of Germany's celebrated half-timbered buildings into an elaborate cuckoo clock. Dancing figures appear above the dial while a night watchman makes his rounds through the village scene. The tall 54 cm case brings the historic architecture and storybook character of the original town hall to the wall.

Movement, sound and animation

The mechanical 8-day movement needs winding only once a week. A resonant 36-note music box plays Edelweiss and The Happy Wanderer, accompanied by the night watchman and dancers. The cuckoo announces the hour and half hour, and the automatic night shut-off silences both call and music in the evening.

Handcrafted in the Black Forest

The linden-wood case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. The mechanical movement carries the VdS certificate of authenticity for genuine Black Forest origin, materials and manufacture and is covered by a 24-month movement warranty.
