MADE TO ORDER
Calling it a Day celebrates the hour when the work is finished and the village gathers together. Costumed couples dance on the balcony, two men share a beer below and the mill wheel turns alongside the chalet. The warm, sociable scene gives this clock a cheerful presence without losing its traditional Black Forest character.
Movement, sound and animation
The mechanical 8-day movement runs for a week between windings. Its 22-note music box plays Edelweiss and The Happy Wanderer while the beer drinkers, mill wheel and dancers bring the scene to life. The cuckoo calls on the hour and half hour, and automatic night shut-off quiets the clock in the evening.
Handcrafted in the Black Forest
The linden-wood case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. The mechanical movement carries the VdS certificate of authenticity for genuine Black Forest origin, materials and manufacture and is covered by a 24-month movement warranty.
