Golden Hour brings the familiar Black Forest chalet into an easy-to-own electronic format. A man relaxes at the table with his beer stein while a white goose stands beside him. The case and cuckoo are made of wood, and traditional pinecone-shaped metal weights complete the appearance without powering the movement.
Movement, sound and animation
The quartz-controlled movement runs on three C batteries, so there is no winding or pendulum regulation. On the hour, the wooden cuckoo calls and one of twelve melodies follows; three volume levels let you adjust the sound. An automatic light sensor keeps the clock silent when the room becomes dark.
Handcrafted in the Black Forest
The wooden case is painted, fitted and assembled by hand in Gütenbach, Germany. Natural variations in wood grain, color and figures are part of the character of a handmade clock, so no two examples are exactly alike. Electronic clocks are not eligible for the mechanical VdS seal, but their movements are also made in the Black Forest and carry a 24-month movement warranty.
