Inspired by the work of eminent London clockmaker Joseph Knibb, The Chartwell is an exceptional William-and-Mary-style longcase clock. Its walnut cabinet is layered with burr veneers and intricate marquetry of birds and flowers, assembled from boxwood, pear wood, walnut, satinwood and black-dyed sycamore.

Barley-twist pillars, hand-cut fretwork and a solid-brass dial with cherub spandrels complete the period composition. The eight-day triple-chime movement offers Westminster, Whittington and St. Michael melodies sounded on bells.

  • Quiet hours: Automatic overnight silencing from 10:00 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with chime-sequence and beat correction
  • Chime melodies: Westminster, Whittington and St. Michael melodies sounded on bells
  • Dial: Solid-brass dial patterned after a 17th-century original, with period-style hands
  • Glazing & fittings: Mineral glasses and lacquered solid-brass fittings
