Howard Miller Livingston 630-128 Presidential Collection Triple Chime Mantel Clock

The Howard Miller Livingston 630-128 is an impressive mechanical mantel clock from the company’s distinguished Presidential Collection. With its broad architectural case, graceful arched profile, rich Windsor Cherry finish, decorative marquetry, and finely detailed molding, the Livingston has a commanding presence that sets it apart from the typical mantel clock.

The elegant dial features black Roman numerals, ornate black hands, a brushed brass-tone bezel, and the Howard Miller name above the Presidential Collection signature. A hinged convex glass door provides access to the three winding points and the chime-selection lever.

Inside is a quality Hermle eight-day mechanical movement offering a choice of Westminster, Whittington, or St. Michael chimes. The selector also includes a silent setting when the chimes are not desired. The clock plays its selected melody on the quarter hours and counts the hour at the top of each hour.

The substantial wood case is enhanced by contrasting decorative inlays, carved molding along the base, and polished brass-tone feet. It is a beautifully proportioned clock that displays exceptionally well on a mantel, sideboard, library shelf, or executive-office credenza.

This clock is in beautiful overall cosmetic condition and presents exceptionally well. It does have two specific imperfections that are shown clearly in the photographs.

The upper hinge on the rear access door is missing. The lower hinge remains in place, and this issue does not affect the clock’s appearance from the front or its mechanical operation.

The second issue is located inside the bottom of the case, where a staple securing the rear portion of the case previously broke through a small area of the interior wood. That area has been stabilized and is secure. It is inside the clock, is not noticeable during normal display, and does not affect the clock’s appearance from the exterior or its operation.

Neither issue affects the movement, chimes, or the way the clock displays. The asking price has been reduced to reflect both disclosed imperfections.

This is an excellent opportunity to own one of Howard Miller’s more substantial and attractive retired mantel clocks at a price considerably below what a flawless example would command.

Condition Statement

Beautiful overall pre-owned condition with an excellent exterior presentation. One hinge is missing from the back door. A small interior wood break caused by a rear securing staple has been stabilized and does not affect the clock’s operation or exterior appearance. Both imperfections are photographed and have been reflected in the price. Normal minor signs of previous ownership may be present.
