Anton Schneider Is Back—and Coming to Just a Clock Collector

I have some news I’m excited to share: Anton Schneider is back in 2026, and the brand is coming to Just a Clock Collector.

As a clock collector and a small business owner, I’m glad to see a familiar name get another opportunity. If you already own a Schneider cuckoo clock, remember one from a family home, or have been thinking about buying your first, this is a return worth knowing about.

From a farmhouse to six generations of clockmaking

In 1848, Anton Schneider began making cuckoo clocks in his farmhouse in Schonach, Germany. The business grew through six generations of the Schneider family. In 1952, production moved into a factory on Triberger Strasse, which was expanded in stages through 1985. The range grew to include carved woodland designs and chalet clocks with music and moving figures. Schneider’s history

That is part of what makes cuckoo clocks so enjoyable to collect. You can appreciate the carving and the little details, but you also get a clock with a sound and personality of its own. Choosing one is personal: a simple bird-and-leaf design may appeal to one person, while someone else wants a chalet with a whole scene to watch.

The original business closed in 2025

Anton Schneider Söhne filed for insolvency in August 2025. A buyer for the entire operating business could not be found, and operations ceased on December 31, 2025. That brought the original family-business chapter to an end. GCI’s account of the closure and acquisition

For anyone who cares about traditional clockmaking, the loss of a longstanding maker is difficult news. I’m especially pleased that, in this case, there is more to the story.

The Anton Schneider brand returns in 2026

AHUG Betriebs AG acquired the brand rights, and the relaunch was organized through a newly formed company, AS 1848 GmbH. The Anton Schneider name is continuing under new ownership. GCI’s acquisition announcement

According to Schneider’s own history, production restarted in March 2026 in Gütenbach, keeping the brand’s new home in the Black Forest. Schneider’s account of the restart

Coming soon to JACC

I’ve now spoken with the Schneider team, and the full catalog is nearly ready. I’m told it is expected to include around 50 clocks, and I’ve already begun preparing the selection for Just a Clock Collector.

I’ll share the models, pricing, and availability as the remaining details are confirmed. In the meantime, if there is a particular Schneider style you love, or a model you have been hoping to find, please get in touch. I’d be happy to help you explore the options as the catalog becomes available.

Thank you for supporting my small business and following along as I bring more clocks to the shop. I’m looking forward to introducing you to this returning brand.

Welcome back, Anton Schneider. Coming soon to Just a Clock Collector.
