Vintage Seth Thomas Westminster Chime Mantel Clock

This beautiful vintage Seth Thomas Westminster chime mantel clock features an ornate decorative dial, brass-tone bezel, warm mahogany-tone wood case, and a German-made mechanical key-wind movement.

This is not a battery-operated clock. It is fitted with a Seth Thomas 340-020A mechanical movement, marked Made in Germany, with Two Jewels and Westminster chimes on rods. The clock has three winding arbors on the dial for the time, chime, and strike trains.

The case has a classic tambour / mantel clock profile with a graceful arched center, raised side panels, rounded columns, brass-tone feet, and a rich traditional finish. The dial is especially attractive, with raised gold-tone numerals, ornate black hands, and decorative scrollwork that gives the clock a very elegant presence.

This is a wonderful display piece for a mantel, shelf, office, study, fireplace surround, or traditional living space.

Condition & Function

This clock is in very nice vintage condition with attractive presentation and normal signs of age and handling.

The wood case presents beautifully with a warm polished finish. The dial, bezel, glass, and decorative details show well. As with any vintage clock, minor surface wear, finish marks, light scratches, and age-related imperfections should be expected.

The clock has been tested and is running and chiming during inspection. The Westminster chime has a much warmer and more traditional sound than modern electronic quartz chime clocks.

Vintage mechanical clocks may require adjustment after shipping and should be placed on a level surface. Routine service, cleaning, oiling, or regulation may be desired over time for best long-term performance.
